Clinical Services

We provide services to many hospitals. Upon request, our highly trained staff can travel to your facility in the New York tri-state area to perform Cell Salvage and Autologous Platelet-rich Plasma/Bone Marrow concentrate procedures.

We provide outsourced services for our Lipoprotein Apheresis and Therapeutic Apheresis procedures in our regional markets.

Learn more about each of our service offerings and how to contact us below.

Cell salvage is the collection of the patient’s own blood during and/or after surgery for transfusion back to the patient, providing the transfusion of “fresh” blood.

Also known as Perioperative Autologous Transfusion (PAT), cell salvage avoids the transmissible disease risks of allogeneic transfusion. It also decreases the risk of transfusion reaction and allows rapid blood replacement for hard-to-match patients (rare blood types or multiple alloantibodies). Notably, a setup where autologous blood returns through a circuit continuous with the patient’s circulation is typically accepted by the Jehovah’s Witness community.

Therapeutic Apheresis is a technique to separate whole blood into components (plasma, red cells, white cells, and platelets) to isolate specific components for removal and return the remaining components to the patient.

Therapeutic apheresis applies this technique to remove the blood component responsible for the disease. Apheresis can also be used to collect blood components from donors matched to patients with specific needs with regard to stem cells, red cells, platelets, and plasma. Therapeutic apheresis procedures are most commonly performed for hematologic, neurologic, renal, autoimmune, metabolic, and organ transplant indications.

  • We Offer the Following Unique Capabilities:
    • We have been in business for over 20 years and perform more than 3,500 therapeutic apheresis and stem cell procedures annually.
    • Outsourcing enables your hospital to provide timely access to this critical treatment modality, retaining patients without the burden of maintaining equipment, supplies, staffing, performance, and data.
    • Our RNs are highly trained and experienced. A dedicated manager and physicians are available 24/7 to provide consultation and guidance to your ordering physicians and address any issues.

LP-APHE is a type of selective apheresis by which atherogenic lipoproteins (such as LDL and Lp(a)) are efficiently removed, while most other proteins (including the atheroprotective HDL) are not. This contrasts with therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), where all plasma proteins are lost with the removed plasma, and replacement fluid is required.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated platelets and associated growth factors, while bone marrow concentrate is concentrated bone marrow aspirate containing stem and mesenchymal cells. These procedures may enhance and accelerate tissue repair and regeneration of multiple tissue types, may improve functional outcomes, and are easily prepared in about 20 minutes.

  • We Offer the Following Unique Capabilities:
    • 24-hour availability of autologous product services.
    • We bring all equipment, supplies, and staffing directly to your facility and manage associated quality control, staff training/competency, and maintenance requirements.
