Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs
Andrea Cefarelli is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs for New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe). Andrea leads engagement with external stakeholders, internal and external communications, fundraising, government and community relations, and B2B marketing efforts in support of NYBCe’s research institute, Comprehensive Cell Solutions (CCS), genomics and labs. She also serves as NYBCe’s chief public spokesperson and is a regular presence in local and national news media.
She began her three-decade-long career with NYBC Donor Recruitment, exceeding collection goals and developing innovative youth strategies, and building significant stakeholder relationships in the community that would become foundational to her continued growth. Andrea went on to lead enterprise Donor Recruitment and Marketing teams.
During her tenure, Andrea has helped navigate NYBC through some of the nation’s most challenging times, such as 9/11, Hurricane Sandy, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Within NYBCe, she has taken part in mergers and played a key role in relationship-building between NYBC and its divisions. She is known for creating some of the most enduring marketing and recruitment programs used across the enterprise, such as Little Doctors Program ®, Bloodstock®, and GiveBloodNYC. She has been recognized for her extensive achievements in training, leadership, and collections through her ADRP Recruitment Manager of the Year Award and the NYBC Human Resources Training Award.
Andrea holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in Public Administration from the University of Vermont. She is a member of ADRP, AABB, and the American Marketing Association. Her professional interests are mentoring young professionals, especially youth and women, and remaining active in blood banking organizations such as ADRP, ABC, AABB and BCA.
