Cryoprecipitate, or ‘cryo’, is a plasma component that is rich in clotting factors, including fibrinogen, factor VIII, and von Willebrand factor. It is used to control bleeding in patients with hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and other conditions where blood clotting is impaired.  Our cryoprecipitate vials are prepared from either single donor or pooled donor plasma. Cryo is prepared by freezing and then slowly thawing plasma, and it can be stored for up to one year.

Granulocytes are a type of white blood cell important for fighting infections, especially in patients with severely compromised immune systems. Granulocyte transfusions are used in cases of severe infections unresponsive to antibiotics, particularly in patients with neutropenia.  Granulocyte products are collected through apheresis.

Key considerations for ordering granulocytes:

  • Product should be ordered through your own blood bank
  • Please allow time for delivery as granulocytes require special donor recruitment and stimulation prior to collection
  • Granulocytes expire within 24 hours of collection so these should be transfused upon receipt

If you would like to contact us for granulocytes, please fill out the Granulocytes Product Request Form.
